The people of Canada are varied and distinct. They are a nation established by aboriginal people and generation of immigrants who came from every corner of the globe. The canada people puts their identity in high esteem and cherish their cultural origins.

Religion. Nearly all (90%) of canada people are Christians. They are divided equally into Catholics and Protestants. The United Church of Canada as well as the Baptist, Presbyterian, Anglican and Lutheran churches make up the Protestant group.

Family Life. Nuclear families are the standard all across Canada. On average, men get married in their mid-twenties, women in their early twenties. In many families, age difference in children are by only a few years. Most married couples have the same cultural origins, religious belief and educational backgrounds. Nearly half of Canadian marriages today end in divorce.

Clothing. Canadians wear modern apparels but may don the traditional garments of their cultural groups during special occasions. American-style cowboy gear is worn in western provinces during special festivals like Stampede in Alberta and the Calgary Exhibition.

Language. Being a bilingual country, English and French are Canada's two official languages. However, only 16% of canada people are truly bilingual. 60% speak only English while 24% speak only French. Canada's native peoples have almost sixty different languages.

Rites of Passage. Canadians commemorate marriages, births and deaths pretty much the same way as people of other western nations. Many Canadians celebrate these major life events according to the observance and customs of their respective religions.

Education. Literacy is high among canada people and almost all of the adult population of the country is capable of reading and writing. Education is overseen by each of Canada’s provinces individually. In every case, education is mandatory for every Canadian from the age of around six up to sixteen.
